RadiSys Microware OS-9 brings real-time functionality to Fedora Linux with VirtualLogix’s VLX virtualization. This new software computing environment supports concurrent operation of real-time and general purpose tasks on popular Intel Core Duo-based boards such as RadiSys Procelerant COM Express and Endura Mini-ITX. Companies can reduce hardware costs by merging traditionally separate processing environments onto one Intel Core2 Duo-based platform. RadiSys provides a hybrid, multi-processing environment that runs faster, runs cooler and integrates faster than a collection of individual real-time and general purpose systems.
Kei Thomsen, a well known technical expert from RadiSys, will cover the following subjects:
- Virtualization concepts on Multicore architectures
- Where are we today and the benefits for new system designs
- Introduction
to the RadiSys solution, which integrates the OS-9 real time operating
system, VLX Real-Time Virtualization targeting Intel Core 2 Duo
processors. This platform offers:
- Reliable real time operation with high performance computing
- Complex graphical user interfaces with the broad range of demanding communication infrastructures, such as HTTP, SSL, NTP, SSH, etc.
